As claimed on the website of the National Federation of Fish Fisheries, “Fish and chips are the undisputed National dish of Great Britain »(1). In a country with 67 million inhabitants (including Northern Ireland), it is said that 382 million meals from fish & chip shops are served every year, including 167 million only fish and chips meals. 80% of people visit one of the 10,500 fish and chip shops at least once a year, while 22% visit them at least once a week!
